Caroline Rose is a mom, wife, and dog-lover, as well as a wine-loving, hope-holding, three-time, highly aggressive, incurable, stage 4 cancer thriver. After being told there was no hope, that her cancer would eventually come back to take her life, she did the only thing she knew how to do: She took each day as it came and endured the brutal treatments one by one. Through it all, Caroline never let go of hope and found that sometimes, it was the only thing she could hold that kept her going.

Today, Caroline is enjoying her tenth year of living cancer-free. She travels the country speaking to approximately 10,000 to 15,000 people each year. Her message of hope resonates universally, especially today. She is a highly requested podcast guest, and her blogs have gained up to 102,000 monthly viewers on Pinterest alone. The world is craving hope, and Caroline is happy to be the one to provide it.

Q&A with Caroline Rose

What is your expertise or claim to fame?

Surviving cancer!! My cancer was interesting because I was diagnosed when I was in the very best shape of my life. I was a big marathon runner and had started doing triathlons. I was actually in the process of training to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa when I was diagnosed. It was a total and complete shock, to say the least.

My cancer didn’t have a cure and we didn’t have a ton of treatment options so I just did whatever I had to do to live another day. My goal became- buy time because when I need another treatment option in the future, chances are there will be a newer or better, or more effective option.

And that’s exactly what happened.

And now I consider myself, cured.

What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned in your business?

Today, I write and I speak and I spread the message of hope to anyone who will listen. The hardest thing is trusting yourself and believing in yourself and finding the motivation to keep going when you are not sure if what you are doing is making a difference. It’s trusting your God voice/intuition/inner truth. Every morning I pray for clarity and courage- I ask God for the clarity to know what to do and then the courage to then go do it.

What’s your best tip you could share with other entrepreneurs, business owners, or bloggers?

You have the answers. You have the courage. You have what it takes. Believe in yourself. NEVER give up. Do what is scary because that’s where you grow/learn/make a difference. It’s okay to fail. It’s okay to make a mistake. Just keep going. Keep following your God voice. And keep being your awesome self.

What does it mean to you to do a branding photoshoot?

Oh, man! It means overcoming a TON of anxiety and self-doubt. It means being brave and creative and stepping outside of my comfort zone in pretty much every single way. I love the final result because I see a strong, independent, healthy, bad-ass person in those photos and I’m so proud that I actually did it!

Why did you ultimately decide to work with Meet the Bryants?

Why NOT work with the Bryants is the question! Jason and Alejandra are the absolute BEST. They are the first photographers I’ve found who made me feel comfortable and seen and heard- and important. I felt they were invested in my photos and wanted me to feel confident and happy and wanted to create a vibe of FUN! I loved their creative suggestions. I loved their expertise and knowledge. I adore them as people. And I now consider them my true and loving friends.
